HELP US RAISE FUNDS TO FINISH OUR FILM

by Everything You Have Is Yours

Everything You Have Is Yours is inspired by the story and award-winning work of choreographer Hadar Ahuvia. Hadar is the granddaughter of Zionist 'kibbutzniks,' collectivist pioneers who paved the way for Israel's statehood. Through the prism of Israeli folk dance, Hadar cracks open the founding mythologies of Zionism to reckon with the erasure, displacement, and racism folded into Israel's history.

The film’s braided narrative weaves poetic connections and a multiplicity of voices— centering dance as a transformative medium for resistance, reclamation, grieving, and healing. In addition to Hadar, the story features artistic portraits of New York City dance artists Mor Mendel, Ze’eva Cohen, Gil Sperling, lily bo shapiro, Freedom Dabka Group and zavé martohardjono with other guest appearances.

Our story takes place in the present. The ongoing occupation and dispossession of Palestinians continues to be taboo within US mainstream media and amongst politicians— Democrats and Republicans alike. At the same time, with the growth of white nationalism, antisemitism is on the rise. This film is a fearless portrait of a generation's disillusionment with Zionism at a time of urgent reckoning. Through embodiment and testimony, American-Jewish, Israeli-Jewish, and Palestinian-American dancers and allies bring their cultural lineages to life.

HELP US REACH $20,000 BY MAY 15th!

May fundraising update!—
Campaign extended until May 15th! Our initial $50,000 goal was a fail safe in case we do not raise funds via grants and other outreach. However, raising $20,000 would be a huge accomplishment and would support our most pressing costs including hiring a finishing editor.

Thank you to all who have donated so far! We are very grateful! We could not make this film without the support of our community, and we so look forward to sharing the finished film soon.

How the funds will be spent–
Poised to premiere the film in winter 2024, funding will go towards hiring a finishing editor to get us from a rough cut to picture lock, artist intellectual property fees, score, and our own director and producer fees. This crowdfunding campaign is part of a larger fundraising strategy. Additional funds raised will go towards preparing for the premiere including sound mix, color, graphics, archival rights clearance, accessibility, insurance, and legal.

Our production history–
This film has been in production since 2017. It was initiated by fellow dance artist Tatyana Tenenbaum as an outgrowth of her dance videography work. Starting in 2019, our team has taken part in several high-visibility documentary development labs and pitch forums. Through these experiences we have connected with festival programmers and distributors who will ensure this film meets an audience once it is complete. We are grateful to the peers and mentors who have given us feedback, watched assemblies, and who continue to advise us. We are excited to have made it to the "rough cut" stage. This means nearly all of our filming is complete and we have a basic story outline. We now need the eyes of a finishing editor— someone with distance from the material and an artistic touch for the film to reach its full potential.

Why we need your help —
Securing funding for a first feature film is incredibly difficult. It is even harder when your film touches sensitive topics like Zionism. This is exactly why a film like this needs to be made; with the nuance and complexity that dance artists embody. We are grateful for a small but meaningful Dance Films Association Production Grant Honorary Award and a recent award from New Music USA’s Reel Change Film Fund to support the film’s score. The bulk of our labor, however, has been funded through day jobs, side gigs, and Covid unemployment and a few donations from family. We hope you will consider supporting us!
